Favorite Door

Yes, I have a favorite door and yes it's in Welland. Perhaps you know where it is ?? I was talking with a friend and in conversation found out we both have photographed this same door. I think its neat when things like this happen. Photographic minds think alike.
But why do doors make a good subject for photographs........ I was thinking that in life a door can represent going somewhere. People have the urge to see whats behind the door, so it naturally draws you in. Images of doors can give you that same feeling and draw you in.

Somewhere in Welland there is a door that looks like this

Almost Missed Opportunity

I took these images on a abandoned property last spring and was floored the next day when they bulldozed the whole thing! Just a reminder that when you see something worth shooting you shouldn't wait to long or think it will always be there :)

Stone Angels

Years ago a good friend of mine named Stone got me interested in photography. I will never forget one of my favorite images of his was a black and white image of an angel he took in a cemetery. That image and inspiration has always stuck with me and still does. Not only the image itself, but the fact that he was not afraid to walk around a cemetery with a big camera looking for beauty. It opened me up to the fact that getting good photographs takes time, effort and sometimes a touch of fearlessness.

Thank You Stone.

All of these Angels were taken in Niagara
